Leoncavallo Retires...

At the Giant Steps horse show we were able to honor a horse that has meant so much to all of us at Shady Lane Farm. Leoncavallo was the loyal partner to Susan Lea for the past 8 years. He was a tremendous character and a true winner. We at SLF were lucky to have been able to watch Susan and "Leo" in action for all those years and it was suiting that we were able to retire him in such a noble fashion. Leo is now enjoying his time roaming his field with his friends at Rockridge Ranch.

GABBY CIRELLI IS THE CO-WINNER OF THE GUCCI SIX BAR ON FAMKO S!!!

Caroline Albright swept the Adult 18-35 Eq Division on Corado 99
Emily Kjell swept the Low Childrens Eq Division on Clifford
Lauren Alamillo and Tatianna won a Mod Childrens Jumper
Jen Lampton and Aragorn were 3rd in the AA Jumper Classic
SLF Bizet jumped again with just 4 faults in the GP and finished just out of the ribbons...

HMI Equestrian Classic

Here are some highlights from HMI Equestrian Classic:

Caroline Albright won 3 Medals and was 2nd. (Riding both Weltino B and Corado 99)

Caroline and Che Guevara were 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 4th in the 1.10, AA's and Low Mod's respectively.

Lauren Alamillo and Tatianna were 2nd in the Mod Children's Jumpers

Arostino and Allyson Kardel got top ribbons in the Modified Adult hunters

Clifford and Emily Kjell finished up strong in the Children's Hunter Classic scoring an 82.75.

SLF Bizet finished with one down in a very competitive Grand Prix and just missed a ribbon.

North American Junior Young Riders - Lexington, KY

Gabby had a terrific experience at her first Young Riders Finals. She and Famko S jumped a conservative clear on the first Individual day and followed that up with a clear and four fault score on team day. Her rounds were the best scores for our Zone 10 team and helped us secure a spot in the second round as well as a birth into the finals for individuals on Sunday. On Sunday the tracks were huge, but Gabby put in more solid trips to end up in the top 15. We are so proud of her and Famko.

Spruce Meadows 2014

We had a terrific time at Spruce this year! Caroline Albright, Gabby Cirelli, Jen Lampton's Aragorn and SLF Bizet all came home with well earned ribbons. We had such a fabulous experience and can't wait to go back next year!!

Newly imported Arostino finishes 3rd in his first Hunter Derby with no score lower than an 85!!
SLF Bizet finished 6th in the $15,000 Jennifer Marborough Grand Prix
Caroline Albright and Weltino B won the CPHA Am, Hudson and Adult Eq Over
Famko S and Gabby Cirelli were Champion in the Low Jr/AO Jumpers
Famko S jumped double clear in the Open 1.40 and 1.30
Corado 99 jumped double clear in the Open 1.20 and 1.30
Quiro was double clear and won the Open 1.20
